Sharing the love of Jesus Christ through our words AND our actions

Roatan Honduras – Lighthouse Orphanage

One of the two orphanages situated on the island of Roatan Honduras is called the “Greenfield Childrens Home” and is run by an organization called “Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries”.  The orphanage is located in between the villages of Coxen Hole and West End.  Orsey and Banessa Cruz are the house parents overseeing the day to day operations and do a wonderful job of sharing the Love of Jesus Christ with these children.  Please visit their website at www.csiroatan.org  for details of this marvelous ministry.  Please note, their site works best using Fire Fox of  Internet Explorer search engines.

The King’s Storehouse has  been blessed with the opportunity to provide these children with shoes, school uniforms and water filters.  In early July 2012, one of our mission teams hosted a pizza and movie night at the orphanage and had a wonderful time playing with the children.  While there, our teams hung doors in the new two story class room building,  performed miscellaneous repairs on the existing facilities and provided the orphanage with the Sawyer Point One water filters that will eliminate their need to buy bottled water.  A five gallon jug of purified water costs about 35 Limperas ($1.50) each.  Although this doesn’t sound like much, imagine the cost to provide clean drinking and cooking water for 2o children and staff every month.

If you feel led of God to minister to “the least of these” whom Jesus refers to in Matthew 25:40, you may make your donations directly to the Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries website listed above.  The Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministry is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that can provide tax receipts recognized by the IRS.
