Sharing the love of Jesus Christ through our words AND our actions

Mystery of Lawlessness – Part Twelve

Mystery of Lawlessness – Part Twelve

The End of Days

In the first 10 parts of this series, we have focused on Satan’s origin, his original purpose, his fall and his subsequent influence upon mankind from the garden of Eden around 4,000 BC through the reign of the Syrian king Antiochus Epiphanes in 164BC.  Through this period of time we have seen how satan has tried to exercise god like control over mankind through human governments.  We can see his fingerprints upon the rise and fall of empires throughout history and can now recognize the ultimate struggle between good and evil that is shaping world events today.  In this lesson we will focus on world events from the mid 1800’s  up to 1948 and see how they have helped set the stage for the rise of the last world empire spoken of by the Old Testament Prophet Daniel and in the New Testament by the Apostle John in the book of Revelation.   In the next lesson we will look at key world events starting in 1948 up through the present day and see how God’s word not only predicted it, but how God says the future will unfold from this point forward.

In order to fully appreciate the magnitude and portent of the events that we are about to review, it’s very important to keep the following points in mind throughout the remainder of this study;

1.   God is omniscient (all knowing), omnipresent (able to be everywhere at once) and omnipotent (all powerful).  God is a loving God and not willing that any soul should perish God is one God and yet triune in nature meaning He is comprised of three distinct entities made up of God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit.

2.   God is perfect and HIS word (The Holy Bible) is perfect.   The 66 books of the bible, written by 40 different authors over a period of 2,600 years are in perfect harmony with each other and as a whole represent the divinely inspired word of GOD.  The bible contains everything we need to know about GOD, about our origins, about our world and all that we need to do to obtain eternal life through Jesus Christ.  It is inerrant, infallible and provides a permanent standard by which each generation has drawn guidance, encouragement strength and knowledge down through the ages.   The interpretations of some portions of God’ word have been hidden until “the time of the end” as described in Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

3.   Satan is NOT God, and never will be God. He is a created being, and although he was the wisest and most beautiful of all of God’s creatures, he isn’t all knowing, he isn’t able to be everywhere at once and he isn’t all powerful.  Satan’s goal throughout human history has been to create a one world government with a one world leader whom he could eventually possess and then for the first time in his existence, be able to exercise god like control over the all of mankind.  In short, his goal is to create a NEW WORLD ORDER.  The two primary components that satan will use to form this NEW WORLD ORDER will be the institutions of human government and human religion.  It’s important to note that when I say human religion, I am not talking about true Christianity; I’m referring to man inspired religions which led to such events as the Crusades, the Inquisition etc.   All of satan’s efforts down through the ages will soon culminate in the formation of a one world government.  This one world government will consist of a one world religion, a one world military, a one world currency and a one world ruler who will have total and complete control over the earth.  In order for satan to bring about a one world government, he must first destroy people’s faith in their current form of government, he must destroy their faith in God, and he must destroy the cohesion of the family unit.   Throughout the remainder of this lesson you will begin to see how major world events have, and will continue to promote the destruction of these three, basic foundational principles of our society.

4.   Man was created by GOD and given free will.  He can choose to reject God (like satan did), or he can choose to submit to God.  Man is made in the image of God and therefore, like GOD is triune in nature.  Meaning man possesses a physical body, a soul and a spirit.  Our worldly physical body is temporary and will pass away.  Our soul and our spirit are eternal and will continue on after our physical body has died.

5.   Finally, and most importantly, we need to understand that in spite of satan’s influence, and in spite of mankind’s free will, God will still achieve HIS perfect will for mankind and do so according to HIS perfect schedule.  Because God is All Knowing, he has known the end from before the beginning and those of us who trust and believe in HIM can have peace and joy in the midst of these seemingly uncertain times.  If you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, share the source of your joy and security with those around you who are in desperate need of a solid rock upon which to cling.  If you do not know Jesus as your savior, please understand that we are in the End of Days and time is drawing to a close.  There will soon come a day when Jesus will close the door and you will be unable to escape the trials and tribulations that are coming upon the whole world.  As mentioned in the previous lesson, the End of Days will be like in the days of Noah, when God closed the door to theArkand all who remained outside theArkperished in the flood.

With these five points in mind, let us take a look at recent world events and see how the Spirit of Lawlessness (Satan) has been hard at work behind the scenes to bring about the New World Order.

1800’s –

In 1844 Samuel B Morse first used a telegraph to transmit the words “what hath God wrought” fromWashingtontoBaltimore.  For the first time in human history, communications traveled faster and farther than possible by horseback, signal fires/flags, or carrier pigeons.

In 1859 Charles Darwin published his book titled “On the origin of the species” in which he raised the idea that man was the product of evolution and natural selection,  rather than the crowning achievement of God’s creative work.  Even though by his own standard, his theory is a failure, this concept provided a convenient lie by which satan could explain mans origin apart from the biblical account of creation.  This concept appealed to all who preferred “to be like god” rather than be held accountable to the Supreme Creator of the Bible.  When I was in high school evolution was still taught as a “theory” because it couldn’t be proven.  Since that time, 40 years ago, there has been no additional evidence to support the theory of evolution and numerous scientific evidences refuting it, and yet today it is taught as science rather than theory.  Anyone who argues against evolution is branded a religious fanatic and told that science and Christianity are incompatible!  What a marvelous job satan, the father of all lies has done in selling this grand deception under the guise of “science”.   Without a doubt, this is the greatest lie ever foisted upon mankind since the first lie that satan told Eve in the Garden of Eden.

From the end of the Civil War in 1865, through the turn of the century, the development of electricity, oil, railroads, steam ships, the steel industry, internal combustion engines and the automobile, contributed to what has been called the American Industrial Revolution.  Telegraphs allowed almost instant communications across the Atlantic and for the first time in history, man’s reach was no longer limited to the 20 mile radius he could cover on horseback in one day.  The world became a smaller place, businesses thrived and the ensuing prosperity gave rise to more leisure time and international travel.

Early 1900’s –

Invention of the telephone, airplanes and radio made our world even smaller.  This era saw the rapid expansion of banking systems that set the stage for passage of the Federal Reserve Act in 1913 which placed control of our nation’s monetary system into the hands of non-elected officials.   The Federal Income Tax also became law in 1913 giving the government the right to tax citizen’s earnings.  Although these events seem insignificant now, at the time they represented major expansions of government control over the daily lives of the American people.

The rapid pace of industrial development gave rise to advances in military technology and for the first time in the history of the world, we experienced a World War.  Naively referred to as the “War to end all Wars” WWI not only failed to end all wars, but its outcome gave rise to Second World War was even more devastating than the first.

In 1917 the Bolshevik Revolution introduced a new form of government called communism which enslaved its people, denied the existence of God and declared that man was the pinnacle of the evolutionary process.  Over the next 50 years, Russian dictators murdered millions of their fellow countrymen, outlawed Christianity from within its borders and enslaved neighboring countries under the iron yoke of their communist rule.   This dictatorial form of government will become the pattern for the future New World Order.

The Communist Party of China was formed in 1921 with heavy influence and encouragement from their Russian neighbors.  The Communist Revolution in China then took place in 1949 and resulted in a similar godless, dictatorial form of government.  Now Russia and China would subjugate almost a fifth of the world’s entire population under a form of government that denied God and glorified man as the highest order of living beings.  This is the very essence of what the New World Order represents.

The Stock Market Crash of 1929 and ensuing Great Depression gave rise to an additional expansion of government programs and powers including the formation of the Social Security Administration in 1935.

In 1940, the Second World War began and before it was over five years later, it would touch every living soul around the world resulting in the deaths of millions of soldiers and tens of millions of civilians.  In the years leading up to the war, satanic forces heavily influenced the leader of the German NAZI party, Adolph Hitler and convinced him to mount an attack upon God’s chosen people, the Jews.  We are all familiar with the horrors of the holocaust but few people realize that Hitler and many of his top leaders were heavily involved in the occult, and thus directly influenced by satan.  Satan’s hatred for God and God’s chosen people led to the murder of 6,000,000 innocent Jewish men, women and children in what Hitler called “The final solution”.

In addition to the cost in human life in the Pacific and in Europe theatres, WWII also brought about significant changes to the traditional family unit here inAmerica.  With so many men fighting overseas, women began to join the work force to keep the war effort moving forward.   We cannot discount the significance of this event and the impact this would have upon the children of that generation.  As the war ended in 1945,America’s industry shifted to the civilian market andAmerica’s economy began to boom.  This led to increased employment, which led to higher wages, which led to more leisure time and greater luxuries.   The increase in the average family income, fueled by the typical American entrepreneurial spirit led to expansion of small business.  Combined with the booming industrial economy, the majority of Americans now made up what became knownAmerica’s middle class.

In the midst of this time of plenty, families expanded to create what is known as the baby boom generation.  In order to appreciate the importance of this event we must consider what the parents of the baby boom generation had just gone through.  The suffering and deprivation brought on by the Stock Market Crash, Depression and World War II drove the parents of the baby boom generation to strive to give their children ALL the things they never had.  The booming economy and plentiful jobs made it possible for this hard working class of people to buy homes, automobiles and other luxuries their parents could never have dreamed of.  This abundance was then passed on to their children that generation grew up with a vastly different set of values than their parents and grandparents.Consequently, the baby boomers grew up in a time of great peace and prosperity.  We will visit the baby boomers again later in this lesson because they will have a significant impact upon our nation’s future.

And then came 1948 –

As mentioned in previous lessons, there were a number of events which occurred in 1948 that forever changed the world we live in today.   One of the most important of which was the re-birth of the nation of Israel.  I believe this single event marked the beginning of the end spoken of by Jesus in the 24th chapter of Matthew.  I believeIsrael’s rebirth in May of 1948 has ushered in the last generation that will not pass before all the prophecies regarding Jesus’ second coming are fulfilled.   We will talk more about this in Lesson Thirteen.

May God Richly bless you and yours during this Christmas Holiday Season and may your New Year be spent learning and growing in the knowledge of the LORD.
